Remember the Liverpool 96
with the Limited Edition Silver 96
The 96 Limited edition, 3.5oz, 999.9 Fine Silver coins, are each hallmarked and stamped by the famous Birmingham Assay office in England. Coins 001-039 have sold out and coins 040-096 cost £119 (subject to p&p and handling fee).
Our parent company Winston, Elizabeth & Windsor (wewlondon.com) have produced a similar coin for the inaugaration of President Obama, ($600 retail) (ObamaGoldCoins.com). Please try to understand the process in the production of just one of these coins. If you go to BullionByPost, a Birmingham based bullion dealer. As you will see, to buy just 100g of fine sliver bullion will cost you near on £80, also the labour costs exceed that of £60. Labour includes the pressing of the bar into a disk 60mm diameter x 4mm thickness. After this has been done, the disk must be polished until it has a mirror finish, the coin must then have a collar fitted around the edge which takes time to engineer, then is stamped with the master dies (which cost around £2000).
This is why limited edition, collectors coins hold great value and increase in worth over the years.
Only 96 are to be minted worldwide, using fine .999 silver, not .925 Sterling. To get an idea for the weight of the coin, it is the same as twelve 50p peices (See image)
